PDH Farewells Ros Jones

Thursday, 20 April 2017
After 16 years, Portland District Health’s Director of Corporate Services Ros Jones is moving to a new role.

Ms Jones will become clinical services manager at Heywood Rural Health, which she describes as an exciting new challenge with a new team.

I've loved working with PDH but I’m also looking forward to a new working environment and a new type of role, she said.

Ms Jones joined PDH as a Registered Nurse in 2001 and later filled roles in theatre, infection control and manager of hotel services before being appointed Quality, Safety and Risk Manager.

She was Acting CEO for eight months while in her current role as Director of Corporate Services, which she has held for nearly seven years.

Ms Jones said she was pleased to be returning to a clinical role where she will be responsible for managing all clinical functions of the Heywood service.

However, she will miss PDH, particularly many of its people.

I've always been in it for the health service, she said. PDH has some amazing people and great teams and we've had some great successes over the years, such as the dynamic environmental services team that have achieved amazing audit results with 100 per cent for the last three years, the excellent results in infection control and the completion of many outstanding projects.

My learnings from each role have provided me with great insight and enabled me to reflect on a range of perspectives to call on to successfully manage situations as they arise.

CEO Chris Giles said Ms Jones had provided outstanding leadership to all staff during her time at Portland District Health in several different roles, including acting CEO.

I would like to thank Ros for her dedication, and leadership, as a valued member of the executive team and acknowledge the exceptional work she has undertaken to maintain and improve the services and care we provide at PDH, Ms Giles said.

PDH will miss Ros as a professional colleague, a team player and an outstanding leader, she added.

Ms Jones left PDH on April 13 and will start her new position with Heywood Rural Health on May 15.
