Aerobic Champion To Speak At AGM

Three-time aerobics world champion Sue Stanley will bring a healthy message to Portland this month.

Ms Stanley will speak on the topic `Health, Fitness and You' when she addresses the Portland District Health annual general meeting on Thursday November 20.

The AGM will be at the Richmond Henty Hotel Blue Room from 7.30pm.

While in Portland, Ms Stanley will also address a Committee for Portland breakfast function on November 20.

In 1994 Ms Stanley became the first person to win three aerobic world championships. A recognised aerobics expert, Ms Stanley has also represented Australia in water-skiing and gymnastics.

She is also a successful businesswoman and author who has made many media appearances, including television advertisements, interviews and contributing articles to magazines.

Portland District Health CEO Chris Giles said Ms Stanley was a fitting choice as guest speaker to support PDH's commitment to improve the health of the community.

Sue Stanley is an engaging and motivational speaker who will build on our work in improving the health of our community,Ms Giles said.

We are proactively encouraging the community to adopt a more preventative approach to their health and to improve their eating and exercise habits.

PDH is part of the `Portland SEA Change' (Sustainable Eating and Activity Change) program which aims to bring together the community to find the best way to change the eating and exercise habits of local people.
