The Schools First Awards reward outstanding school-community partnerships that lead to improved student outcomes. Our partnership was able to prove significant benefits to not only the students involved in the program, but also staff at both organisations and the wider community.
Our application was one of 863 submitted this year making the win all the more special.
The funding will be put towards the new Youth Centre currently under construction in the Community Services Facility, training and development for staff from both the Health Service and School, as well as funding scholarships for students to attend metropolitan health and leadership educational opportunities.
The next phase is to attend the Victoria State Impact Award on October 20th to find out who will be selected as the 2011 State Award winner.
