Timboon & District Healthcare Service utilise the services of the Occupational Therapists from South West Healthcare in Warrnambool.
A referral from your GP, District Nurse or other Health professional is required and assistance with a referral may be made by contacting the reception staff on (03) 55586049 between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
There is no fee for utilising the Occupational Therapy service however, if payments may be required for any additional works which are required or aids which need to be purchased.

Physiotherapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being. It involves the interaction between physical therapist (PT), patients/clients, other health professionals, families, care givers, and communities in a process where movement potential is assessed and goals are agreed upon, using knowledge and skills unique to Physiotherapists.
The Physiotherapist will use your individual's history and a physical examination to arrive at a diagnosis and establish a management plan, and when necessary, incorporate the results of laboratory and imaging studies.
Our Physiotherapist (Dina Selman) is available for appointments between 9.30am and 2.30pm every alternate Tuesday and Wednesday and every Friday.

Steffi Persson will provide inpatient and community based services to the Timboon and District communities. Social work for inpatients at Timboon and District Healthcare Service aims to make the transition from hospital to home a well-organised process. Steffi’s key responsibilities will be to address the psychological and practical impacts of hospitalisation of patients and their families through the provision of a variety of services. Her services will include counselling, discharge planning, crisis intervention, bereavement counselling, family support, care coordination and referrals to other services.
Another key component of the position is to provide a Social Work service to the wider local communities being; Peterborough, Princetown, Port Campbell, Nullawarre, Timboon, Simpson and Cobden. This service offers free and confidential counselling to individuals and families. The main focus will be to provide a range of effective strategies to overcome difficult circumstances. Whether it is an individual or family situation Steffi will be able to provide information, education and counselling regarding a specific issue.

The qualified Speech Pathologist provides services to people with communication and eating / swallowing disorders. The Speech Pathologist liaises with teachers, medical staff, other Allied Health and Nursing staff, and parents, to develop comprehensive support programs, and to maximise therapy benefits. Speech Pathology is aimed to assist clients who have difficulties with; articulation (speech), receptive and expressive language, learning and literacy (reading and writing), stuttering, voice, speech and language difficulties associated with hearing loss and intellectual disability.
Our Speech Therapist (Kelly Carlin) is available for appointments between 9.15am and 2.45pm every Monday and every second Thursday.

Natasha Neal, Youth Worker, works with young people between the ages of 12 -25 on a one to one basis or in groups. This can be outreach or hospital based. Under her role, Natasha assists Timboon P12 school with welfare support (counselling) for secondary students and is a strong advocate for young people with other service providers. Natasha also assists with preventative education helping to run health, wellbeing and leadership programs to school students. She works in conjunction with other health workers with regard to youth services.
