Home Maintenance Contract Continues For CMH

Casterton Memorial Hospital has been successful in securing another five year contract from the Glenelg Shire for the Home Maintenance Program.

CMH will continue to provide this valuable service which is aimed at assisting people who are unable to maintain their homes and grounds and to continue to live independently.  

Chief Executive Officer, Mr Owen Stephens advised “currently our team is providing lawn mowing and whipper snipping to approximately 90 clients covering the township of Casterton, Sandford, Merino & Digby.  At this stage we are maintaining a rotation rate of a 3 week cycle averaging an hour per property”.

Safety in the home is also part of this service which involves installation of rails and other minor modifications as recommended by an Occupational Therapist and as directed by the Glenelg Shire.

Service eligibility is subject to an assessment carried out in the client’s home.  Glenelg Shire Council Aged Services conduct this assessment.  Referrals for this service can be family or other service providers or you can even refer yourself.  No doctor’s referral is required.
