The Urgent Care Department at Colac Area Health provides a 24 hour emergency service to the residents of and visitors to Colac Otway Shire.

As a rural health service the Urgent Care Department treats approximately 9,000 patients a year. The department is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals and is equipped to deal with most medical and surgical emergencies. Providing a coordinated approach to patient care, nursing staff are available 24 hrs a day and medical services are provided by on call General Practitioners and a hospital based Career Medical Officer. Diagnostic services including medical imaging and pathology support our service.

Our major regional referral hospital is Barwon Health approximately one hour from Colac.
