Chief Executive Officer

Geoff came to Colac Area Health after 36 years in the Victorian public service including 28 years with the Departments of Health and Human Services. Including his time at Colac Area Health he has been involved in human services for the last 40 years predominantly in rural regions. One of Geoff’s ambitions is for Colac Area Health to be a vibrant proactive learning organisation that people see as an employer of choice and opportunity. He is passionate about leading an organisation that the community is proud of and staff are proud to belong.

 

 

Wes Truscott

Director Human Resources

Wes joined Colac Area Health in May 2011 having worked mostly in private and not for profit health care sectors. Prior to being in HR Wes worked in a variety of clinical areas whilst employed with Defence then spent the latter part of his career in senior HR roles. Wes holds a Bachelor of Health Science and an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management and is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute. Wes’s ambition is for CAH to strive towards employer of choice status and to build on a culture that encourages excellence, enjoyment and purpose. 

 

 

Eldred Gilbert

Director Clinical Services

I am delighted to be in Australia on my second assignment in this country.  I have been in Nurse leadership roles for many years in both private and public settings and in primary, secondary and tertiary health environments.  I am passionate about access to health care, patient/client focussed care and a patient safety culture Underpinning this experience I have an undergraduate degree in social science and  a post graduate MBA.  I am pleased to be in an organisation that seeks to be further “uniquely integrated” and I look forward to being able to develop Colac Area Health in this regard.

 

Ed Davis

Director Medical Services

After 16 years in clinical medicine, 6 of which were in the RAAF, 5 as a GP, Ed commenced in Medical Administration 29 years ago at the Alfred Hospital, having acquired an MBA from Monash some years earlier. Two years later he moved to Ballarat to take up the position of DMS in what was then the Ballarat Base Hospital.  Ed resigned after 13 years, taking up a mixed role in Consulting and as a part time DMS at a number of large and small hospitals around rural Victoria, including Bendigo (Deputy DMS for 4.5 years) Hamilton & Wangaratta as well as a dozen of so of small B, C and some D class hospitals. All this time Ed continued to live in Ballarat. In 2006 Ed commenced part time work as DMS at Colac Area Health, this increased to half time in late 2008. In July 2009 he commenced as part time DMS at St John of God Hospital, Ballarat, where he is still employed. 

 

Jennifer Labourne

Director Finance and Business Services

As Director of Finance and Business Services, Jennifer joined CAH in September 2009; a world away from her previous life as a partner with Ernst and Young and a consultatnt to the health industry.  Being a Fellow of CPA Australia and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Jennifer brings many skills to Colac supplimented by a wealth of experiences that complement her role.  Colac Area Health faces many challenges, as is common in our size health service, and Jennifer is looking forward to making a contribution and a difference to benefit the community.

 

Margaret White

Director Community Services

Marg has worked in the welfare sector in Colac over many years initially with unemployed young people, then with homeless young people and in 2000 commenced with CAH and was appointed to the position of Family Support Coordinator. Marg has overseen the rapid growth in Family Services at CAH over the past 10 years and went into the role of Family Services Manager in 2005 and Director of Community Services in 2009.  Marg is passionate about providing a diverse range of quality services and programs to the local community, particularly for vulnerable families and children. and adolescents.  Marg has actively pursued co-location opportunities with other service providers to complement and enhance CAH services and strongly supported the co-location of a Child Protection team and the recent collocation of Barwon Health Jigsaw Mental Health service for young people.
