As an integral part of Colac Area Health, Corangamarah provides 24 hour nursing care and easy access to podiatry, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, speech therapy and other services. Medical services to residents in Corangamarah are provided by arrangement with our local General Practitioners. Corangamarah is an accredited public sector residential aged care service with 75 high level residential care beds including twin share, single, special needs and respite care. It is a modern, safe and friendly environment with 24 hour care by registered and enrolled nurses and lifestyle workers to aid participation in a wide range of inspiring activities. Corangamarah offers a respectful and compassionate home-like environment with a holistic approach to care and high standards of accountability, honesty and integrity. AmenitiesAs an integral part of Colac Area Health, Corangamarah residents have ease of access to podiatry services, physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, acute care, rehabilitation services, dental and medical care. High care residential respiteWe can offer high care respite when a room is available. This provides an excellent opportunity to get to know Corangamarah and its staff in the event of ongoing care needed in the future. Respite care is offered for a period of two to nine weeks. You will receive care of the highest standard during your short stay. AccreditationAged care accreditation assures you that Corangamarah meets a set of quality standards set by the Australian Government relating to the care provided to residents. Only facilities with a good track record of compliance and continuous improvement, such as Corangamarah, can expect three years accreditation. In between accreditation site audits, we review and monitor our practices to ensure that we continue to deliver a service of the highest quality. Philosophy of care
Corangamarah’s hand made quilt for palliative residents – Our way of showing we care The staff in Corangamarah are committed to the care and compassion of our residents and we pride ourselves on extending this care to their families, particularly during times when a resident may become quite unwell or has passed on.
To show our genuine support during these difficult times, Donna Rice (one of our Enrolled Nurses), volunteered her time to produce a beautiful handmade quilt that can be used as a mark of respect for a resident when it comes time to say goodbye to their loved ones. Donna, assisted by her team including Lil Wheeler, Robyn Malone from Coragulac Quilters and the Tuesday Ladies Quilting Group, all donated some of their time or resources to prepare the beautiful handmade quilt that can be used by residents and their families in their time of need. In Donna’s words, “it’s our way of showing we care”.
